I'm very pleased to have an article in the May/June Somerset Studio Magazine, Transferring Memories. There are full instruction on tape transfers, watercolor application, and adding dried natural elements to your art. Thanking Stampington for publishing my art work.
I entered the "rust" challenge by Somerset Studio Magazine. Somerset Studio is a mixed media publication, with the art of paper & mixed-media. I'm pleased to announce my entry, Rock Bottom was chosen for the March/April 2018 issue. If you would like a copy of this publication you can purchase it at Borders Book Store or on-line at Stampington.com, or order over the phone: 1-877-782-6737. Rock Bottom is a small work of art, but oh so fun!
Each year at Art Unraveled, Phoenix, AZ a Chunky Book is created by volunteers to auction for an art charity for children. These creative little 4" x 4" book pages are composed of a prior year techniques class, created by a teacher, or a student. I've been a teacher at AU for many years and the following pages will be in the book this year. Each volunteer receives a page from the participating artist, along with the cover of the book created by the organizer of the event. My pages were created from my 2016 class, Emotions with an Echo; antique book pages, acrylic paint, medium, collage. I've attached several pages for your viewing, enjoy!
I was approached for a donation from the Arizona State Conference for the American Cancer Society, Breast Cancer Relay for life organization in early summer of 2016. Bra Couture AZ "The Art of Supporting Cancer Survivors" mission, along with the American Cancer Society is to support uninsured/underinsured cancer patients who have been touched by all cancers. Can you imagine facing cancer without any insurance, or sufficient insurance to cover critical items? At Bra Couture AZ, we know that individuals diagnosed with cancer are more fearful of facing the disease without the money than just facing the disease itself.
I donated the following 11" x 14" mixed media art creation this year titled, Good Vibrations. It was created from a normal white bra. The bra cups are filled with positive affirmations. A person can read one of these positive affirmations each day. The original art creation went for $275.00 and to a breast cancer survivor.
I would like to thank the American Cancer Society for their support of this wonderful event. Thanking also the women who received my original artwork. It was made with the memory of many friends who have suffered, and survived this devastating disease.
My original work of art will be published in Somerset Memories Magazine, April, 2013 issue. The necklace/wall hanging was inspired by the loss of my mother, creating this piece shortly after her death. I want to thank Somerset/Stampington Corporation for again recognizing, and publishing my art, in another of their superior mixed media magazines. It was due to my offering that Somerset Memories Magazine now has a "last page" section for a piece of art associated with a touching memory.
My original work of art has been published in Somerset Studio Gallery Magazine, Winter, 2012 issue. My creation of three mixed media necklaces will motivate anyone to begin creating. These art pieces are easy to assemble and personalize for yourself or that special gift. They are wonderful for necklaces, fan pulls or to inspire as a hanging in your cubicle at work, giving you that one word or two to motivate you each day. I want to thank Somerset for again recognizing and publishing my art in this superior mixed media magazine.
My original work of art was submitted to Somerset Magazine, Edgar Allan Poe challenge and accepted. My work has been published in the Somerset Studio Magazine, September 2012 issue, Expressions section, which is on the magazine stands today. My rendition of The Tell Tale Heart will be featured with full directions. This is a true mixed media piece having used everything, but the kitchen sink! See if you can find all the techniques I used in my work.
